Cheltenham Man Flees After Inappropriately Touching Teen Girl Outside Café

A disturbing incident took place outside a café in Cheltenham last month, where a 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted. Gloucestershire Police are currently investigating after a stranger reportedly touched the girl’s thigh without her consent.

According to police reports, the man approached the girl and her friend while they were seated outside a café on Regent Street, initially asking them for directions. The situation escalated when he sat next to the girl and placed his hand on her thigh.

A nearby customer intervened, telling the man to leave the girls alone. The witness recognized the suspect and mentioned having seen him following distressed girls earlier that day. Upon being confronted, the man quickly left the scene and ran away.

The incident occurred around 8pm on Thursday, May 14. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid to late 20s, slim build, with messy ginger-toned hair. He wore a sage green jacket with shoulder pads, carried a brown satchel with a chest strap, and had a mobile phone in a black fabric flip case with a magnetic clasp.

Police have reviewed CCTV footage and urge anyone with relevant video or information to come forward. While no further reports matching this description have been made, officers are eager to hear from anyone who may have experienced similar incidents or witnessed this event.
