Tom Bellamy, the rising star jockey, made headlines not just for his incredible win at the Cheltenham Festival but also thanks to a heartfelt appeal from his mother. After riding White Noise to a sensational upset victory in the Mares' Novices' Hurdle at odds of 40/1, Tom celebrated his first ever Cheltenham Festival triumph, leaving racing fans and bookmakers stunned.
Bellamy’s victory over favorites, including the 1/1 favorite Bambino Fever, marked a milestone in his career. Speaking to ITV shortly after the race, Tom was overcome with emotion. “I’ve waited my whole life for this day,” he said, visibly moved. “I genuinely am speechless, I cannot believe it. Delighted for the team at home who’ve helped my whole career.”
Reflecting on his journey, he revealed, “I’m nearly crying here. I bunked off school as a kid to come and watch the Cheltenham Festival and now I can’t believe I’m walking here after winning.”

Sue Bellamy, Tom’s proud mother, shared her joy with ITV. “It’s what dreams are made of! A big price winner, fantastic for the yard, the lads, the lasses, and the mother who has to put up with him when the day doesn’t go well,” she joked.
But when asked about any rewards Tom might receive for his victory, Sue surprised everyone with a different kind of prize in mind: “A girlfriend! Anyone out there… he’s a nice lad!” Her light-hearted plea highlighted the down-to-earth personality of the young jockey amidst his newfound fame.
As Tom Bellamy basks in the glow of his breakthrough Cheltenham win, it seems his biggest support comes from his mother who hopes his next big win might be in love.
