Gloucestershire Police are currently investigating a dramatic incident involving vehicles deliberately ramming into each other, accompanied by reports of gunshots, on Beaufort Road in Gloucester. The event occurred around 2:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 2.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing what sounded like gunfire during the collision between at least two cars. However, when officers arrived, the vehicles involved had already fled the scene. Authorities later located and seized one of the suspected vehicles, which is now undergoing forensic examination.
Thankfully, there were no injuries reported from the incident. Despite the initial claims, police have found no evidence that a firearm was actually discharged. Officials are continuing to investigate with an open mind.

In the wake of the event, increased police patrols and specialist searches have been conducted along Beaufort Road to ensure public safety and to locate any potential weapons.
Superintendent James Glansfield emphasized the seriousness with which the police are treating the situation: “While we are investigating the report of a firearm being discharged, at this time we have no evidence supporting this claim. Our Gloucester Neighbourhood Policing Team will maintain reassurance patrols throughout the weekend. We urge anyone with information or concerns to reach out to us.”
