Cars Collide Amid Reports of Gunshots in Gloucester

Police are currently investigating a disturbing incident in Gloucester where reports surfaced of cars ramming into each other alongside sounds resembling gunshots. The event occurred on Beaufort Road around 2:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 2.

According to Gloucestershire Police, at least two vehicles deliberately collided during the incident. Witnesses reported hearing gunfire, although no evidence of a firearm discharge has been confirmed.

When officers arrived, the vehicles involved had already left the scene. However, one vehicle believed to be connected to the event was located, seized, and is now undergoing forensic examination.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. Despite the lack of direct evidence of gunfire, police are treating the situation seriously and are maintaining an open investigation.

In response, a heightened police presence has been established, with specialist officers conducting thorough searches along Beaufort Road for potential weapons.

Superintendent James Glansfield commented, “We are treating the report of a firearm being discharged seriously, but currently have no evidence to support this claim. The Gloucester Neighbourhood Policing Team will be conducting reassurance patrols throughout the weekend. We encourage anyone with information or concerns to come forward.”
