Burglar on the Run After Laptops Stolen from Cheltenham Shop

Early Wednesday morning, June 25, a burglary at a shop on The Promenade in Cheltenham resulted in the theft of three laptops. At approximately 3:30am, an alarm alerted police to the break-in in the town center.

Officers arrived swiftly and arrested a 45-year-old local man on suspicion of burglary. He is currently in custody undergoing questioning.

However, a second suspect managed to flee the scene. Despite extensive searches, including the deployment of a police dog, this individual has not yet been apprehended. He is believed to have escaped toward Wellington Lane and Clarence Square.

Gloucestershire Police have released a description and image of the second man: a white, slim-built male wearing a grey hooded top, dark trousers, black trainers, and a black snood covering his face. He was also carrying a white tote bag.

Police continue to investigate, conducting forensic examinations and reviewing CCTV footage. Authorities are urging anyone with information or relevant footage to come forward, quoting incident 49 of June 25 when contacting them.
