Isaac Hutchinson won’t feature for Cheltenham Town in their upcoming away match against his parent club, Bristol Rovers. Despite his absence on the pitch, Hutchinson remains central to discussions about both clubs' futures.
Bristol Rovers manager Steve Evans has made it clear that a return to Cheltenham Town for the talented 26-year-old midfielder is “probably impossible” beyond this season. Hutchinson has been instrumental for Cheltenham this campaign, scoring 20 goals during two loan spells, separated by a brief stint back at Bristol.
Currently contracted to Bristol Rovers for another year, Hutchinson is expected to move on this summer, with several League One clubs already interested. Evans plans to meet with Hutchinson on Monday to discuss his next steps.

“He’ll be in a week earlier because he has some holidays planned,” Evans told Bristol Live. “After scoring twenty-plus goals, he deserves a good break. We’ve always liked Isaac, and there’s a strong connection between us. We’ll sit down and decide what’s best for Bristol Rovers.”
When asked about Hutchinson’s future, Evans was candid: “There’s definitely interest in him. Will he return to Cheltenham? Highly unlikely, in fact, probably impossible. But we may find a way to keep him here. That conversation with Isaac is crucial.”
Hutchinson, already named in the EFL League Two Team of the Season, is also favored to be Cheltenham’s Supporters' Player of the Year, following the footsteps of last year’s loanee award winner, defender Sam Stubbs.
