The family of Paul Clark, affectionately known as “Clarky,” have shared a moving tribute following his tragic death in a three-vehicle collision on the A46 in Old Sodbury, South Gloucestershire.
Paul, aged 64, was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend from Mangotsfield, Bristol. Known for his kindness, loyalty, and brilliant handyman skills, he was cherished by all who knew him.
His family described him as a “brilliant, kind, loyal man” and a devoted family man. Paul was a husband to Susan, father to Natalie and Mitch, father-in-law to Ash and Sophie, and grandad to Leo, Jaxson, Elsie, Bella, and Edie—affectionately nicknamed “grandad bald-y pants.” He was also a loving son to Joan and Robin, and a supportive big brother to Sarah and Helen.

A true enthusiast of cars and motorbikes, Paul was actively involved in numerous clubs, including the Jaguar Club and Ford Consul Club. His passion extended to motorbike tours across Europe and local adventures, reflecting his outgoing and social nature.
Paul’s talent as a handyman was well-known, as he willingly helped friends and family with everything from building projects to repairs. Beyond his practical skills, he embraced life’s challenges, successfully completing the London Marathon, the Three Peaks Challenge, and many other endurance events.
Emergency services responded swiftly to the crash on Wednesday, May 7. Despite immediate medical efforts, Paul was pronounced dead at the scene.
Avon and Somerset Police continue to investigate the incident and are seeking witnesses. Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 5225127458.
