Bradley Walsh Shares Why He Hasn’t Watched The Chase in Years

Bradley Walsh, the longtime host of ITV’s popular quiz show The Chase, has admitted that he hasn’t watched the programme in years. Speaking to Radio Times, Walsh revealed that his busy filming schedule means he rarely has time to watch the show he presents.

“I haven’t seen The Chase in years because I don’t finish in the studio until five o’clock,” the 65-year-old said. Meanwhile, Bradley’s son Barney Walsh, who stars as Cameron Mickelthwaite on BBC’s Casualty, also has a packed schedule that limits their viewing habits.

Bradley shared that he does make time to watch Casualty, which he has been an avid fan of for years. He praised how the series has recently taken on a more cinematic feel, noting his appreciation for the show’s evolution. Barney, 28, added that finishing filming late often means he misses The Chase, but he enjoys watching it whenever he has a chance.

The father-and-son duo first worked together on the ITV travel show Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad in 2019, which has since run for multiple series, including the latest in 2025. Barney reflected on their time together, highlighting the 80 to 100 adventurous activities they have done on the show.

Although currently focused on individual projects, both Bradley and Barney are open to returning to the partnership in the future. For now, Bradley continues to host The Chase along with its spin-off, Beat The Chasers, and other projects including Blankety Blank and Bradley Walsh: Egypt’s Cosmic Code.

He recently told the Daily Mail that he plans to carry on with The Chase “until people say they’ve had enough and start switching off,” calling it “the best job in the world.” Fans can also look forward to the Walsh duo’s return on the revived Gladiators series, which premieres on BBC One and iPlayer on 17th January.

The Chase remains a staple of ITV’s weekday lineup, airing from 5pm on ITV and ITVX.
