A 24-year-old man’s body was discovered on a slip road off the M4 near Bridgend, Wales, after police were alerted to a person in distress on a nearby footbridge.
The incident occurred just before 9:30pm on Saturday, December 6, prompting the temporary closure of the M4 in both directions near Junction 36. Emergency responders, including South Wales Police, South Wales Ambulance Service, and Crime Scene Investigators, rushed to the scene.
Police were initially called following reports of a man showing signs of distress on the footbridge above the motorway. Upon arrival, officers found the man deceased on the slip road adjacent to the footbridge.

Despite immediate attempts by ambulance personnel to resuscitate him, the 24-year-old could not be revived. The man has been identified as a resident of Litchard, Bridgend. His family has been informed, and support is being provided to them in this difficult time.
A South Wales Police spokesperson said: “Officers responded to reports of a man in distress on the M4 footbridge near Junction 36 shortly before 9:30pm. Emergency services located the body nearby upon arrival. The motorway was briefly closed to facilitate police and CSI investigations. The identity of the man has been confirmed, and his family is receiving support.”
