A body has been discovered during an extensive search along the River Severn at Gloucester Docks after a man was reported to have entered the water early Thursday morning.
Gloucestershire Police responded to an urgent call at approximately 10:20 AM on November 20, following concerns for the welfare of a man who entered the river near the Old Prison but failed to resurface.
The search operation involved officers, the National Police Air Service helicopter, and Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service crews. After thorough efforts, a body was recovered from the river near Hempsted.

At this time, formal identification of the deceased has not been completed. Authorities have stated that the death is currently not being treated as suspicious.
