The Cotswolds Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) issued a statement outlining the sequence of events: “A grey BMW was observed colliding head-on with another vehicle during an inappropriate overtaking maneuver. This led to a multiple vehicle collision as others were unable to avoid the aftermath.”
Further, the police highlighted the ongoing risks posed by dangerous driving behaviors, emphasizing four major contributors to fatal road traffic accidents: excess speed, failure to wear seat belts, alcohol or drug impairment, and mobile phone use while driving.
Cotswolds NPT urged drivers to consider the consequences of their driving choices: “Please think carefully before getting behind the wheel. The decisions you make affect not only your safety but also the safety of other road users.”
