BMW Driver Flees After Dangerous M5 Chase and Multiple Crashes in Gloucestershire

A dangerous driver in a blue BMW X3 sparked chaos on the M5 in Gloucestershire last week, speeding along the hard shoulder and colliding with several vehicles before fleeing on foot.

The BMW, notable for its blacked-out windows and lack of number plates, was spotted travelling at dangerously high speeds on the northbound carriageway near junction 14 at around 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday, 13 January. The driver exited the motorway at either junction 11 or 11a, prompting multiple reports of reckless driving from concerned members of the public.

Police officers in Tewkesbury soon located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a pursuit. However, the driver continued to evade capture, crashing into several vehicles during the high-speed escape but refusing to stop. Due to the perilous driving behavior, officers made the decision to call off the police chase to avoid further danger.

Gloucestershire Police have issued a public appeal for any witnesses to come forward with information. Anyone with details related to the incident, which has been logged as incident 87 of 13 January, is encouraged to report it online.
