Biker Gang Members Sentenced for Brutal Daylight Attack in Gloucestershire

Six members of the Rock Machine Motorcycle Club have been sentenced following a brutal daytime attack on the leader of a rival biker group in Coleford, Gloucestershire. The violent assault occurred outside a busy town centre pub on the afternoon of Saturday, April 5, 2025, in what police described as a “calculated” ambush.

Lee Rogers, Billy Timmins, Robert Greenacre, Kyle Matthews, Darren Rimmer, and Ashley Lauterdale confronted the victim — a man in his 60s — and his partner at Market Place. The assailants exited multiple vehicles, armed themselves with metal poles, and launched a coordinated attack before fleeing in a convoy.

The victim sustained serious injuries, including a brain bleed and a fractured jaw, requiring hospitalization. His partner also suffered less severe injuries. Gloucestershire Police’s Criminal Investigation Department quickly launched an investigation, reviewing CCTV footage that captured the assault.

Following extensive inquiries, eleven suspects were arrested and charged. At Bristol Crown Court on Friday, June 19, six of those men received prison sentences ranging from nearly three to over six years. Sentences were handed down as follows:

  • Lee Rogers (38, Tipton): 5 years 10 months
  • Billy Timmins (27, Tipton): 4 years 3 months
  • Robert Greenacre (35, Wokingham): 3 years 4 months
  • Kyle Matthews (28, Gloucester): 2 years 10 months
  • Darren Rimmer (53, Gloucester): 4 years 5 months
  • Ashley Lauterdale (35, Gloucester): 6 years 6 months

Rogers, Timmins, and Greenacre pleaded guilty to section 18 wounding with intent and violent disorder at the trial’s outset in February. Matthews, Rimmer, and Lauterdale were found guilty by jury verdicts. Lauterdale also received a conviction for assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Acting Detective Sergeant Robert Humphreys emphasized the seriousness of the attack: “This calculated and brazen assault will not be tolerated in Gloucestershire. We remain committed to bringing offenders to justice and ensuring community safety.”

Further sentencing for four additional men involved in violent disorder is scheduled for August 5 at Bristol Crown Court. Meanwhile, Jordan Peers was acquitted of all charges after his trial concluded earlier this week.
