Renowned TV personality Ben Miller has candidly shared his adoration for his eccentric Gloucestershire home while discussing his move from London. The actor and comedian, recognized for his performances in Death in Paradise and the Johnny English film series, now resides in the scenic Cotswolds.
Ben, who was part of the former comedy pair Armstrong and Miller, lives alongside his wife, Jessica, and their two children near Cirencester. In an interview with The Telegraph, the 59-year-old artist expressed the necessity to find a larger living space, prompting their departure from the capital.
The children’s author explained, “We needed more room because our son, Harrison, who was three, was bouncing off the walls. I mean literally bouncing off the walls.

“We initially explored Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire, enticed by the notion of joining the Chipping Norton set, until we realized the exorbitant house prices. Our celebrity neighbors would reside on a thousand acres, while we’d be confined to a shoe box.”
Consequently, the actor and his family expanded their search radius. After surveying what they considered ‘somewhat disheartening housing options,’ they chanced upon their dream abode in a magazine and ultimately acquired the property.
Their Cirencester residence comprises multiple cottages originally inhabited by architects during the mid-20th century. Ben’s eldest son, from his first marriage to Belinda Stewart-Wilson, can now join the couple’s two children within the compound.
Ben disclosed, “The cottages are all interconnected on the ground floor, boasting an unconventional layout that suits us perfectly.
“I have a teenage son who prefers one of the cottages at the far end, while the younger ones reside with us in the middle part, with an additional cottage for my work at the other end.
“We even have a faux front door. On opening it, you’re greeted by a small terrace and steps leading up to the woods. We cherish its eccentricity.”
Ben is set to debut in the BBC One series Austin, alongside cast members Michael Theo, Sally Phillips, and Billie Piper.
