Publishing funeral notices in local news media has been a respected tradition for generations, honoring those we have lost and supporting their families. We are grateful for the trust placed in us to share these important announcements. Each notice published in our newspaper and on our website is also featured on funeral-notices.co.uk, the UK’s leading platform for death notices and memorials. These notices remain online indefinitely, providing a lasting tribute where friends and families can share memories, add tributes, upload photographs, and make donations in remembrance.
Every week, we pay tribute to individuals remembered in our community through funeral notices and dedicated online tribute pages. Below is a selection of recent notices published in the Gloucestershire area, celebrating the lives of those who have passed.
Kay Bailey peacefully passed away on 26th February at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, aged 86. She was the loving wife of the late Jim Barnes, devoted mother to Debbie and Jo, and treasured Nan to Jake and Tot. A memorial afternoon tea will be held on 20th March at Down Hatherley Village Hall. All are welcome, including four-legged friends. Donations may be made to Medical Detection Dogs via the Down Hatherley Dog Training Club.

Other loved ones recently remembered include devoted husbands, mothers, fathers, grandparents, and friends who have enriched the lives of those around them. Services are scheduled in churches and crematoriums across the county, with many families requesting donations to charities such as Cancer Research UK, Alzheimer’s Society, Dementia UK, RNLI, and various animal sanctuaries in lieu of flowers.
