The family of Sylvia Ann King, an 81-year-old Bibury resident, have paid heartfelt tribute following her tragic death in a pedestrian car accident in the Cotswolds.
The collision occurred just before 12:10 p.m. yesterday on Arlington Pike in Bibury, when emergency services responded to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle driven by an elderly man. Sadly, Sylvia passed away at the scene.
Sylvia’s family described her as a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. In a statement, they expressed their deep sorrow: “It is with great sadness that Roger and family announce the loss of our much-loved family member in this tragic accident on 10 December 2025. We are truly devastated and request privacy as we grieve during this difficult time.”

The driver, also in his 80s, was taken to Great Western Hospital in Swindon for medical evaluation but is not believed to have sustained serious injuries.
Gloucestershire Constabulary is appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police online, referencing incident 187 of 10 December.
