Beloved Former Piano Teacher and Other Local Residents Remembered in This Week’s Gloucestershire Funeral Notices

Announcing the passing of loved ones through local news media remains a deeply valued tradition, and we are honoured by the trust placed in us to share these significant announcements. Every funeral notice published in our newspaper and on our news site is also available on funeral-notices.co.uk, the UK’s leading platform for death notices and memorials. Each notice stays online indefinitely, offering friends and families a lasting tribute, a safe place to share memories, add tributes and photographs, and make donations in memory.

Each week, we pay homage to those remembered in our community with funeral notices and online tribute pages. To read the latest announcements, add tributes, or to create a funeral notice yourself, please visit funeral-notices.co.uk or contact our team at 01482 908084.

  • A much-loved former piano teacher, Jean Anne Filmer (née Roberts), passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at Gloucester Royal Hospital on 16th July 2026, aged 93, with her children by her side. She was devoted to her family and warmly remembered by many for her generosity and remarkable spirit. Her funeral service will be held at the Parish Church of St Gregory the Great, Cheltenham, on Tuesday 18th August at 10:45am, followed by interment at Cheltenham Cemetery. Donations in memory of Jean and her son Robert will be kindly accepted for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

  • Other notices include heartfelt remembrances of local residents who passed peacefully at their homes or hospitals, including beloved family members and friends of all ages.

  • Funeral services and celebrations of life are planned across the county throughout August, often with requests for donations to various charities in lieu of flowers.

We extend our deepest sympathy to all families and friends during these difficult times. To share your own tributes or to publish an announcement, please visit funeral-notices.co.uk.

Our thoughts remain with all who mourn.
