BBC Gladiators Star Matt Morsia Shares Encouraging Health Update After Severe Bicep Injury

Matt Morsia, a prominent star of the BBC’s Gladiators revival, has shared a positive update on his health following a dramatic injury that left his bicep “hanging off.” The fitness expert sustained the injury while filming the show, which launched its new season in 2024 and features iconic Gladiators like Steel and Fury.

During a recent appearance on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch on June 7, Morsia gave fans an inside look into his recovery after last year’s intense surgery. He described the moment his injury occurred during a high-altitude Gladiators challenge. Explaining the incident, Matt said, “I detached my bicep, so it was just hanging off.” He recounted diving to tackle a contestant who clung to a large post, resulting in his arm being forcefully pulled and his bicep tendon tearing away from the bone.

Despite the severity of the injury, Matt reassured viewers, saying, “It’s all good now.” He had previously documented the ordeal on social media, revealing the challenges he faced post-surgery. Matt shared that the past three weeks were the toughest of his life, plagued with intense post-operative sickness, a loss of 15kg in bodyweight, and nearly two weeks without eating.
