Barnsley’s Offer for Jordan Thomas Declined by Cheltenham Town

Cheltenham Town have turned down a transfer offer from League One side Barnsley for talented winger Jordan Thomas. The bid reportedly failed to meet the £250,000 buy-out clause in the 24-year-old’s contract.

Thomas emerged as one of Cheltenham’s standout players during the 2024/25 season, which marked his first full campaign as a professional. Having joined the Robins in January 2024 from National League South’s Bath City for just £5,000, Thomas quickly cemented his place in the team. Over the season, he scored nine goals in 48 appearances under manager Michael Flynn.

His contract at Cheltenham’s EV Charger Points Stadium runs until next summer, and Bath City remains entitled to 15 percent of any transfer fee received by Cheltenham for the winger.
