A man remains in serious but stable condition in hospital following a violent assault near the Cotswolds town of Broadway this past weekend. The incident occurred on Sunday evening, May 11, at approximately 9:35 pm on Murcot Turn, prompting an intensive police response.
West Mercia Police have arrested two men in connection with the attack. A 46-year-old man was detained at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and has since been released on bail as investigations continue. Additionally, a 40-year-old man was arrested in Evesham today on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
Detective Inspector Mark Davidson addressed community concerns, stating, “The incident has understandably caused alarm locally, and we appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation during our ongoing inquiries. While our investigation remains at an early stage, I can confirm we are not seeking any further suspects, and there is no wider threat to the community.”
