Armed officers conducted a dramatic pursuit through residential gardens in Gloucester after receiving reports of a man carrying a large knife. The incident unfolded in the Tredworth Road area around 4pm on June 18, when a member of the public alerted police to the suspicious individual.
Upon arrival, officers spotted the suspect, who immediately fled, breaking into a nearby home. The chase continued as the man exited the property, jumping through neighbouring gardens in an attempt to evade capture. Law enforcement quickly subdued and arrested the 23-year-old local man shortly afterward.
Authorities have since recovered the knife, and the suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue. Neighbourhood officers are maintaining a presence in the area to ensure public safety and provide reassurance to residents.

Inspector James O’Neill of the Gloucester Neighbourhood Policing Team commented, “This was a concerning incident, but our officers responded promptly and successfully detained the individual. We want the community to know that such behaviour is unacceptable, and we will take swift action against anyone who threatens the safety and peace of our neighbourhoods.”
