Armed police launched a dramatic pursuit through a series of residential gardens in Gloucester after a man was spotted carrying a large knife. The incident began around 4pm on June 18, when a member of the public alerted officers to the suspect in the Tredworth Road area.
Upon arrival, police spotted the man, but he immediately fled, forcing his way into a nearby home. The officers gave chase as the suspect exited the property and jumped into neighboring gardens in an attempt to evade capture.
The 23-year-old man from Gloucester was arrested shortly afterward, with a knife recovered at the scene. He currently remains in police custody as investigations continue.

Neighbourhood officers are still present in the area today, offering reassurance to local residents and maintaining a visible police presence.
Insp James O’Neill of the Gloucester Neighbourhood Policing Team commented, “This was clearly a distressing incident. Our officers acted swiftly to apprehend the suspect. We want to reassure the public that we take such incidents seriously and are committed to ensuring the safety of all who live and work in our community.”
