Armed Police Attend Gloucester Street Following Threats to Kill

Armed police were deployed to Hare Lane in Gloucester yesterday afternoon following reports that a man had made threats to kill. The incident occurred at approximately 1.20pm on Wednesday, 6 August, prompting a significant police response in the area.

Eyewitnesses at the scene described a substantial police presence, with officers closing off a section of Hare Lane. Armed officers were visibly stationed as part of the response to the situation.

A 19-year-old man from Gloucester was subsequently arrested at the location. He faces suspicion of making threats to kill as well as allegations of motor vehicle theft. Following his arrest, the young man has been released on bail while enquiries into the incidents are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police confirmed the arrest, stating: “A 19-year-old man from Gloucester was arrested in connection with a number of incidents, including on suspicion of making threats to kill and theft of a motor vehicle.”
