The family of Joshua Bruton, a 30-year-old man from Warwickshire tragically killed in a crash on the M5 in Gloucestershire, has shared a heartfelt tribute to honor his memory.
Described as a “gentle giant” with a radiant spirit, Joshua was known for his kindness and ability to brighten any room he entered. His family remembers him as an extraordinary partner, devoted father, loving son, caring brother, and loyal friend.
“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Joshua Bruton, who was tragically taken from us following a motorway accident,” his family said. “Josh was truly the most amazing partner, dad, son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, and friend anyone could wish for. His kindness and positive energy were unmatched.”

Joshua’s unwavering dedication extended into both his personal and professional life. He always put the needs of his loved ones first and worked tirelessly to support them. Above all, he cherished his role as a father to his two-year-old son, Caden. Their special bond was at the heart of Joshua’s life.
“Life without him will be incredibly hard,” his family added. “The void he leaves behind is immeasurable, but we find comfort in the many lives he touched and the legacy of love and strength he leaves with Caden.”
Emergency services responded to the collision between a grey Luton van and a Volkswagen Transporter on the northbound carriageway near junction 9 for Tewkesbury around 12:20 pm on Wednesday, May 6. Joshua, who was driving the van, died at the scene.
Police continue to investigate the incident and are urging witnesses to come forward.
