Fijian international number eight Albert Tuisue has confirmed his move to Provence Rugby in the French Pro D2 for the 2025/26 season, closing a three-year chapter at Gloucester Rugby.
Since arriving from London Irish in 2022, the 32-year-old made 45 appearances for Gloucester, playing a key role in their run to the 2023/24 EPCR Challenge Cup final, where he scored a try despite the team falling short. His final season was hampered by a broken arm, but he made a comeback to feature in the end-of-season matches.
On the international front, Tuisue earned his first cap for Fiji in 2018 and has since accumulated 31 caps. Notably, he helped Fiji reach the quarter-finals of the 2023 Rugby World Cup held in France.

Provence Rugby’s sporting director, Philippe Saint-André, expressed enthusiasm about the signing: “Albert is a powerful Fijian international who can play both number 5 and 8. He is strong in contact, carries well, and has excellent ball-handling skills. Despite this being his first stint in France, he brings valuable experience from successful seasons at Gloucester.”
Meanwhile, Gloucester director of rugby George Skivington has secured replacements for Tuisue and fellow departure Zach Mercer by signing Jack Mann from Glasgow Warriors and Hugh Bokenham from Cornish Pirates, ensuring depth in the number eight position moving forward.
