During Sunday’s episode of Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh, the beloved presenter delivered an exciting update about ongoing improvements at Manor Farm.
Since the show’s return to ITV in September, viewers have followed the progress of Robert Bent, a skilled carpenter and favourite from Sort Your Life Out, as he took on the ambitious task of restoring the farm’s deteriorated chicken coop.
The crowning achievement came with the official unveiling of the newly refurbished coop, affectionately named “The Chick Inn.” Coronation Street star Thelma Barlow attended the grand opening, adding a special touch to the celebration.

Fans of the programme warmly embraced the stunning transformation, prompting Alan to share news about what lies ahead for Manor Farm’s feathered residents.
“It was just a few weeks ago that we revealed the brand-new Manor Farm chicken run — a renovation project on a scale never before seen,” Alan noted. “Thanks to the tireless efforts of our carpenter, Rob Bent, and his assistant, the once dilapidated home of the hens has been transformed into a true poultry palace.”
Reflecting on the event, Alan said, “Who can forget the grand opening with Thelma Barlow, a self-confessed chicken lover, cutting the ribbon?”
When viewers asked on social media about further plans for The Chick Inn’s interior, Alan was ready with some exciting news.
In a pre-recorded segment, Rob Bent shared his vision to upcycle interior fittings to match the coop’s magnificent exterior. He also proposed adding features like a chicken obstacle course or a hamster wheel to encourage exercise and enrichment.
Alan invited audience participation, encouraging viewers to share their ideas via the show’s Facebook page. “Your suggestions could become part of the next stage of this epic transformation,” he said. “Who needs Kevin McCloud when we have such fantastic creativity from you at home?”
