Gardeners' World fans have been informed that Monty Don will be leaving the BBC gardening programme at the conclusion of the current series later this year. The 71-year-old presenter issued a statement confirming his departure, explaining that it felt “the right time for a change.”
Although the BBC has yet to announce a successor, speculation has been rife, with bookmakers Betway releasing odds on likely candidates. Among those mentioned is ITV’s Alan Titchmarsh, who currently stands at 20/1 odds to take over. Other familiar faces in the running include Charlie Dimmock at 25/1 and JJ Chalmers at 33/1.
However, Adam Frost appears to be the frontrunner, with odds of 2/1, closely followed by Francis Tophill at 3/1. Additional contenders listed are Arit Anderson at 7/1, Joe Swift at 10/1, and Carol Klein at 12/1. Despite the predictions, the official decision remains pending.
