A driver narrowly avoided a serious accident after mounting the pavement to overtake cars and a school bus outside St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Nympsfield, Gloucestershire. The incident, described by police as dangerous driving, occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 4.
Gloucestershire police released a community alert urging anyone with information to come forward. PCSO Candice Francis detailed the events: “A vehicle—possibly a dark-colored car driven by a male—was aggressively beeping its horn to maneuver around a stationary school bus. The driver then overtook two cars as well as the bus, mounting the pavement and grass verge, nearly hitting students waiting nearby.”
Authorities continue to investigate the case and ask witnesses or anyone with relevant details to complete the online form referencing incident number 108 04/12/2025.

In addition to this event, police are also investigating other recent crimes in the area, including vehicle thefts and a burglary. A van was stolen from a Gloucester driveway overnight on December 18 despite the owner still having the keys. Also, a black and yellow Yamaha MT07 motorbike was taken from a car park on Evesham Road, Cheltenham, between December 15 and 16. Furthermore, a home on Rance Pitch, Gloucester was broken into between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. on December 15, with valuables stolen.
Residents are encouraged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to local law enforcement.
