Hilton Puckrup Hotel & Golf Club in Tewkesbury is planning to add an exciting new amenity: a nine-hole adventure golf course designed for both hotel guests and local residents. According to a planning application submitted to Tewkesbury Borough Council, the course will include sleeper, rock, and stone edgings, complemented by thematic props that highlight distinctive elements of the surrounding area.
The proposed course will be situated on a patio area at the rear of the hotel, near one of its restaurant spaces. A planning and heritage statement prepared by Zesta Planning emphasizes the project’s benefits, noting that it will boost community well-being by providing an inclusive, family-friendly leisure activity. This addition aims to enhance the hotel’s amenity value while encouraging social interaction and promoting health through recreational opportunities.
Designed to be ancillary to the existing hotel and golf club facilities, the course is expected to primarily serve families already familiar with the site. The development represents a strategic move to diversify the leisure offerings at Hilton Puckrup, supporting the business’s sustainability by attracting more visitors, extending overnight stays, and creating both seasonal and permanent employment in operations, maintenance, and hospitality.

Importantly, the proposal prioritizes supporting the local economy without resorting to new greenfield development. Hilton Puckrup, located in Puckrup Lane near the M5, also features a swimming pool, spa, and a traditional golf course. The hotel’s main building, Puckrup Hall, is a Grade II listed structure with several later additions, blending heritage with modern amenities.
