Hilton Puckrup Hotel & Golf Club in Tewkesbury is set to introduce an exciting new adventure golf course for both guests and local residents. The proposed nine-hole course will incorporate sleeper, rock, and stone edgings along with props that highlight key elements of the surrounding area, according to a planning application submitted to Tewkesbury Borough Council.
The course is planned for a patio area at the rear of the hotel, close to one of its restaurant zones, within the hotel grounds. A planning and heritage statement by Zesta Planning highlights that the development aims to enhance community wellbeing by creating inclusive leisure opportunities. This initiative is intended to benefit families, hotel guests, and locals alike by enriching the site’s recreational value and encouraging health and social interaction.
The adventure golf facility will complement the existing amenities at Hilton Puckrup, primarily serving families connected to current hotel and golf club users. The proposal is designed to diversify the hotel’s leisure offerings, supporting its continued growth by attracting additional visitors, encouraging longer stays, and generating both seasonal and permanent employment opportunities in operations, maintenance, and hospitality.

Importantly, the project seeks to strengthen the local tourism economy without the need for new greenfield development, preserving the environment while enhancing the community. Alongside the new adventure golf course, Hilton Puckrup offers a swimming pool, spa, and traditional golf course. The hotel itself, Puckrup Hall on Puckrup Lane, is a Grade II listed building with historic significance, enriched by later additions and modern structures.
