‘Abnormal Load’ to Travel Through Gloucestershire with Police Escort

An abnormal load will be transported through Gloucestershire on Monday, July 27, around midday. The large container, measuring 4.4 metres in width and 30 metres in length, will depart from The Mushet Industrial Park in Coleford.

Under police escort, the convoy will travel along Crucible Close before joining the B4228. From there, it will continue onto the A4136 and then the A40. Upon reaching Elmbridge Court roundabout, the load will exit onto the A417 and eventually join the southbound M5 at junction 11A for its onward journey towards Southampton.

Gloucestershire Constabulary has assured the public that every effort will be made to minimize traffic disruption. However, drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and avoid the route during the transit if possible, especially near the roadworks on the A40 at Over, where additional delays are expected.
