A417 Closure: 10-Mile Diversion Route as Road to Shut for Hours

Gloucestershire is set for another overnight closure on a key section of the A417 as the Missing Link project advances. The project involves the construction of a new 3.4-mile dual-carriageway to replace the existing single-carriageway segment near Birdlip.

National Highways has announced the closure of the A417, between the A46 Brockworth junction and the Air Balloon roundabout, from Thursday, April 24, 9 pm to Friday, April 25, 6 am. This closure is necessary for surfacing works.

During this time, access to the A436, Leckhampton Hill, and the A417 towards Cirencester will be maintained from the Air Balloon Roundabout under temporary traffic lights. An official diversion route, covering approximately 10 miles, will be in place, and drivers are advised against relying on their Sat-Navs.
