The much-anticipated multi-million pound Forum development in Gloucester has been making waves since its opening earlier this year. Strategically located just off Station Road near Gloucester Station and the Transport Hub, this prominent site boasts a four-star hotel, a 399-space multi-storey car park, and over 106,000 square feet of office space.
Promoted as “Gloucester’s newest neighbourhood,” the development seamlessly connects office spaces, residential units, a hotel, retail outlets, and a university campus with the vibrant city centre. One striking feature of The Forum is the lush green herb gardens that weave through the modern buildings, enhancing the area’s contemporary appeal.
Among the new additions is Forum Coffee, an independent café nestled on the ground floor of one of the office blocks. Since opening its doors in June, Forum Coffee has quickly become a chic destination for a working lunch within the development.

Inside, the café presents a minimalist yet classy interior, offering a bright and airy environment ideal for a quick coffee, a bite to eat before catching public transport, or a relaxed lunch break away from the office. On a Friday lunchtime visit, the atmosphere is calm but welcoming, with a mix of patrons working on laptops or enjoying the scene from the window seats.
The menu primarily features light bites such as sandwiches, toasties, and smoothie bowls. I opted for the Italian sandwich-a delightful combination of chicken, homemade pesto, tomato, salad, and balsamic vinegar served on focaccia bread. Paired with a pot of tea, the total came to a reasonable £12.60. Although there was an inviting selection of baked goods, including carrot cake and hazelnut brownie, I refrained this time.
Within ten minutes, my sandwich arrived, prompting an impressed “Oh wow” as it was placed before me. The thick, fluffy focaccia held a generous portion of chicken complemented perfectly by the balsamic vinegar, which added a lovely depth of flavour. I can certainly recommend the Italian sandwich to fellow visitors.
Spending about half an hour at Forum Coffee provided a relaxed lunch experience-just the right amount of time for those stepping out from surrounding offices. The café’s ample window seating also makes it a superb spot for people-watching, overlooking the busy main road outside.
For anyone passing through The Forum, Forum Coffee offers an enjoyable and stylish place to pause and refresh.
