£30m Red Superyacht Docks in West Country Harbour for Arctic Exploration

The West Country’s Bristol Floating Harbour is now home to a striking red £30 million exploration super yacht known as the Akula. The vessel, which reportedly belongs to Jonathan Faiman, one of the founders of Ocado, made its way from Cornwall and Devon before mooring at Wapping Wharf. Built by Italian shipbuilders Baglietto in La Spezia, the 59.4 meter long yacht’s original purchase price remains undisclosed, but it’s estimated to be worth around 35 million euros. Registered in the Cayman Islands, the yacht is believed to be en route north for a spring exploration trip to the Arctic.

In a recent interview with Boat International, the owner disclosed plans to visit Scotland, the Faroe Islands, Norway, Iceland, and Greenland, before heading down the East Coast of the US towards the Caribbean and Central America. The Akula, which represents the largest super yacht at Bristol’s Floating Harbour since 2018’s Archimedes, is already attracting attention from passers-by.
