Since its humble beginnings with just 1,000 attendees, the independent 2000Trees festival has blossomed into a celebrated rock and punk event drawing 15,000 fans over 19 years. Nestled at Upcote Farm near Cheltenham, the festival has evolved beyond its hardcore music roots to become a vibrant, family-friendly celebration.
The 2026 edition challenged visitors with intense heat, yet both lifelong devotees and newcomers enjoyed an eclectic lineup featuring live music, comedy acts, and silent discos. Notably, the festival has embraced audiences of all ages. From infants to teenagers, children roamed the grounds, embracing the spirited atmosphere.
Ten-year-old Isaac has been attending 2000Trees with his family since he was two. For him, the festival is more than just music; it’s a cherished part of his life story. “It’s my earliest experience of live music, and I love it,” Isaac shares. He eagerly anticipated the silent disco and joyfully recounted sharing the experience with friends. Though illness prevented him from attending on Friday, he was thrilled to return once he felt better.

This year, Isaac’s 14-month-old baby brother experienced his first festival, a milestone that adds to the event’s family legacy. Isaac is excited for his brother to grow up alongside the festival he holds dear.
Looking ahead, organizers have already announced the festival’s return for July 7-11, 2027, marking the 20th anniversary special. With attractions like a dedicated forest school, playground, and even a kids' mosh pit, 2000Trees proves it’s not just for punk and rock aficionados, but a welcoming space for families embracing music and community together.
