An 11-year-old boy riding an electric scooter was struck by a car at a zebra crossing on Querns Lane in Cirencester on the afternoon of Friday, June 26.
According to the Cotswolds Neighbourhood Policing team, the accident occurred around 2:40 pm as the child was crossing the road. The boy suffered cuts to his hands and fingers, as well as a broken tooth, and was promptly taken to hospital for evaluation.
The driver, a late teenager from Cricklade, Wiltshire, was detained at the scene. He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug and for driving without due care and attention. He currently remains in police custody.
